The intensified political repression in the country was the subject of a whole-day theological reflection/and church response  forum sponsored by the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP) and the Cotabato Regional Ecumenical Council (COREC) in Kidapawan City last August 21, 2006.

Participating in the forum were some 70 church workers and Moro leaders from Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sarangani Province, Maguindanao and Cotabato City.

Karapatan Southern Mindanao Region discussed the rising political repression in the country.

Among the participants in the theological reflection are members of the  United Methodist Church-Church and Society Program, United Methodist Church-Mlang Cotabato, United Church of Christ in the Philippines-Kidapawan City, United Church of Christ in the Philippines-Cotabato Annual Conference and South Cotabato/Sarangani Annual Conference, Tribal Filipino Program-Diocese of Kidapawan, Rio Grande Interfaith Solidarity, PALMA Interfaith Solidairty, Interfaith Alliance for the Advancement of Peoples Rights, Inter-Religious Dialogue, Justice, Peace Integrrity of Creation-Arakan Parish, Kidapawan Parish Team, Southern Philippines Methodist College- College of Theology, and the members from Moro community who are among the beneficiaries of the NCCP.
