During the 2004 elections, GMA had this
emergency employment program called Programang Pangtrabaho ni
Pangulong Gloria all over the country. The employed workers would
sweep the street or rearrange the gravel and the stones lining parts of
the street assigned to them and they get their pay.
The people of Albay, especially the victims of typhoon Reming, need
jobs very badly. A massive infrastructure program now of rehabilitating
roads, public buildings and school rooms would give the people employment.
Maybe one such employment program will be in full swing when the elections
are only several weeks away. |
