“Activist shot, 2 others abducted in Western Visayas !”-KMP
 
The militant Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) and the ANAKPAWIS party list group condemned the latest attack on their ranks this time in Iloilo around 9:30 pm last night. According to Ka Willy Marbella, internal deputy secretary general of KMP and ANAKPAWIS party list nominee, “Leeboy Garachico, Ka Nilo Arado and Ma.Luisa Posa-Dominado, were driving back to Iloilo coming from an ANAKPAWIS activity in Antique, when their pick-up was blocked by a green Mitsubishi van that was tailing them from Tigbauan town and immediately 2 men fired at Leeboy, critically wounding him and they also commandeered the van with Ka Nilo and Luisa still inside,”
 
“We believe that this is again the handiwork of the military and their cohorts. Ka Nilo has confided that he has been constantly been being monitored since October last year and he has been vilified by the 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army since 2005. Ka Nilo’s text messages to Carl Ala, our public information officer are still saved on the latter’s phone regarding those who are following him,” added the peasant leader.
 
Meanwhile Carl Ala, said that Ka Nilo, texted him his observations on those monitoring him during Christmas Day last year and the messages are as follows: Dec.25, 2006, 7:23:08pm. “K. Ito nga nagkukulong sa kwarto hndi makapaglakadlakad man lg kc may deathtret tayo.Doble ingat lg.” Dec. 25, 2006, 8:15:14pm “Ang ntandaan kn txt nya “sya knu ang sundo ng mga kluluwa at mlapit nya n akong kunin”. Dec. 25, 2006, 8:19:33. “Oct yan n txt nya.Kya mula non iba nrin movt me.” Dec. 25, 2006, 8:39:20pm. “Isa pa lang. Pro ang bumubuntot palagi. Lalo n kung ngawi ako sa publib place at o s ibang probinsya man. Kahit n ntong huli mas dumadalas. Tlagang nagparamdam.” Dec. 25, 2006, 8:45:17. “Mrami.Iba ibang personahe bwat probinsya. May iba idintifyd n 3rd id intel personel. Kung s ilo ct, mga asset ng R2.”
 
“It is obvious that again it is the AFP and its death squads behind the shooting and the abductions. They first tried to harass and intimidate Ka Nilo, but when he still continued with his work, they abducted him,” said Ala.
 
“We demand that the military immediately surface Ka Nilo and Luisa unharmed. Mark our words that we will not stop until justice is served, the AFP must be punished for these attacks,” ended Marbella . # # #
