More than 50 people from different organizations in Vienna , ie., Labour Net-Austria, Komak-ML, Anti-Imperialist Camp (AIK), Atik,ADHK (Turkey Youth Federationin Austria) ,Iranian Federation in Austria, Women and Youth groups and several individuals attended the full packed session hall.

 

Earlier Migrante Europe (Austria Chapter) joined in the commemoration of the anniversary of the Palestinian Intifada.

Stop the Killing campaign Forum,

a breakthrough on Solidarity work.

The 4-hour Forum held yesterday, 29 September 2007, 5-9pm at Amerlinghaus, Vienna was successfully held.

More than 50 people from different organizations in Vienna , ie., Labour Net-Austria, Komak-ML, Anti-Imperialist Camp (AIK), Atik,ADHK (Turkey Youth Federationin Austria) ,Iranian Federation in Austria, Women and Youth groups and several individuals attended the full packed session hall.

Reverend Cesar Taguba , the International Liason Officer of the New Patriotic Alliance (BAYAN) was the guest speaker that made the forum lively and interactive. He provided the historical and political context of the violation of human rights and on the otherhand, the liberation struggle. He shared the concept and practice of international solidarity and thanked Austrians who supported the anti-Marcos dictatorship struggle and the current campaign to stop the killings.He ended his presentation with the famous patriotic song 'Bayan Ko' wherein some 12 Filipino compatriots joined him.

The program include the showing of ' Sa Liyab ng Libong Sulo' to orient the attendees of the history of the movement in the Philippines followed by a power point presentation of the report on: Stop the Political Killings in the Philippines, Support Peoples' Resistance and Broaden International solidarity , the speech of Reverend Taguba and the open forum.

It was moderated by Manny Sarmiento and Cristina Unlayao, President and Treasurer, respectively of the Pinoy in In Austrian Society For Integrity Reforms and Social Transformation (PINAS FIRST)and Migrante Europe (Austria) that sponsored the said Forum.

On the other hand, participants shared positive comments and expressed to support the campaign.

The organizers expressed thanks and appreciation to those who helped in the success of the forum. The forum and upcoming visitors will lay the groundwork for the organzation of an Austria-Philippine Solidarity Group.

The forum organizers and their Austrian friends concluded that a breakthrough is made in solidarity relations.

Meanwhile, a delegation from Migrante Europe (Austria) participated in a public demonstration to commemorate the anniversay of the Palestinian Intifada, held last 28 Septembr at the Stephanplatz, Vienna,Austria. They carried placards "End Occupation" and Free Palestine". Manny Sarmiento expressed the solidarity of the Filipino people for the Palestinian struggle.
