December 9, 2008 --- Religious leaders headed by the Zamboanga-Basilan Regional Ecumenical Council and Suara Bangsamoro in Zamboanga City led the Interfaith Prayer Rally in commemoration of the Human Rights Day at the Plaza Pershing, Zamboanga City.

Different youth groups gave cultural presentations such as interpretative dances, poetry reading and song numbers to show their messages of solidarity for the human rights day.

Interfaith groups in Zamboana City lit a candle at the Plaza Pershing for the martyrs --- activists, youth and women leaders, church workers, Moro civilians who were victims of extra-judicial killings and enforced disappearances by the Arroyo administration.
