44th year of Jabidah Massacre, Militant youth cries justice!
Kabacan, North
Cotabato- Justice cries on street as militant youth unites with other
progressive groups at cotabato city in light of the 44th year
commemoration of the infamous Jabidah massacre yesterday.
The Jabidah massacre, also known as the Corregidor massacre, is an
incident which occurred on the night of March 18, 1968 on the Philippine
island of Corregidor where members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines
(AFP) massacred at least 28 Moro Muslim recruits under their custody.
The group laments and outraged as they remember how the young Moro
recruits were taken in batches of twelve to a remote landing field where
they were executed with machine-gun by their military captors.
Darwin Rey Morante of ANAKBAYAN North Cotabato said after forty four (44)
years of searching for truth and justice for the victims still came in
indistinct.
“We will not end up searching for justice for our fellows until marks of
uncertainties to the martyred youth lives; we vow to carry-out our golden
hours in taking the historical task of the youth movement in advancing a
socialist society” Morante added.
Al- Rashied Hashim spokesperson, Liga ng Kabataang Moro (league of Moro
youth) said the historical contribution of the martyred youth will always
be remembered, their sacrifices is the birth of the Moro resistance that
is a glared response to the old-aged state oppression.
Hashim said, it will never be the end of the fight for a genuine
recognition to their right to self-determination but a start of a new
stronger resistance from the past.
“The Jabidah Massacre taught us to affirm with the armed struggle that is
the supreme solution in the long-running tyranny in the country.” Hashim
concluded.
The groups also cited that US-PNoy has no difference to the virtual
dictator US-Marcos who have once led the country with his ostensibly
wartime gallantry, markedly the same on PNoy’s all out justice.
Various militant youth groups reminds US-PNoy regime to expect mass
mobilizations and calling for his ouster.###
